When collaboration takes place between enterprises, rather than within one only, it is often very important to know what information is being sharing - and with whom.
We have experience of developing system which perform this very fine-grained control of visibility. Examples include developing the knowledge base application for the Welsh Assembly 'DNB' project prototype (Digitally Networked Businesses).
The concept of Digitally Networked Businesses (DNB) has been developed by DE&T (Department for Economy and Transport, Welsh Assembly Government) and is based on the "Digital Business Ecosystems" research from the European Union's Framework 6 programme. DNBs can be thought of as internet-delivered communities, populated with content and services developed by their members that support one or more business sectors. A DNB is a "social networking site for business" and owned by its contributors.
